Where will this course lead?

Our Level 2 course is for those developing their skills after achieving the Level 1 Diploma in Motor Vehicle. You will learn about light vehicle repair and maintenance such as servicing, transmission, electrics, engines and vehicle components.

During the course you will study the following areas both theoretically and practically:

- Health & Safety
- Chassis Components
- Engines and Components
- Transmission
- Vehicle Electrics
- Vehicle Servicing
- Stripping and Rebuilding Motor Vehicle Engines.

Successful completion of a relevant Level 1 Diploma, a suitable reference and a successful interview.

Half of this course involves practical hands-on work in a real motor vehicle workshop and the other half is based in the classroom. The motor vehicle facilities consist of a vehicle garage with real cars and components.

Level 2 Vehicle Technology Diploma

You will be assessed through written and practical assignments. There are no exams on this programme.

You will ned to complete an application form and attend an interview

This qualification is accepted by the repair industry as the basic mechanic qualification and would be acceptable to gain employment. If you are successful on this course you will also be able to continue studying towards Level 3 in Motor Vehicle.

You will need to provide your own boots and overalls and all necessary equipment for taking notes. Good levels of English and Maths are important for your success in your course, your chosen vocation and life.
